Private Hot Tub
Ted’s Eco Wood Fired Scandinavian Hot Tub is for your exclusive use during your stay with us.
Simply light the fire, sit back and relax while it heats the water, then step in and enjoy your hot tub experience under the stars.
We think that lighting it yourself adds to the experience, it’s so much better than just switching it on!
Tor View Shepherds Huts are one of Somerset’s hidden gems. Perched high up on the Mendip Hills overlooking Glastonbury Tor in the distance, there’s no sign and no doorbell. You can only get to the Huts after receiving an e-mail with your special code and directions.
Lovingly handcrafted and designed to inspire, every feature adds to the feeling of exclusive luxury glamping.
Experience an Off-Grid break as Ted’s 12 volt electrics are powered and mainly charged by the solar panels installed on the roof! This provides plenty of power for the indoor and outdoor lighting as well as the USB power points, so you can rest assured that your smartphone, tablet or eBook reader can be charged using the wall mounted USB sockets. If you don’t wish to light the stove, we have installed an energy efficient electric radiator.
To be extra-sure of this, we have an automatic and on-board 12 volt battery top-up, for use mainly during the cooler/darker days (because we’re in England!).
There are no 3 pin plug sockets within the hut for devices that may require more power, offering you a real retreat from the modern world.
The huts include absolutely everything and the clever design means that they feel surprisingly spacious – ingenious planning ensures that it all packs away neatly and you won’t be tripping over your bags at every turn.
Last but not least the views of the surrounding Somerset countryside are stunning, and the local area boasts a wealth of inviting things to see and do.
“Stunning views over towards Glastonbury Tor and very peaceful.”

"Since we booked this holiday we have been counting down the days. The expectation was surpassed by Len! We have done so much in our time here but most of all we have relaxed and enjoyed the peace. Cooked steaks in the fire pit, watched deer in ‘our’ field and listened to the owls around us. Lit the stove and cooked (windows & doors open) and constantly found new things hidden away. Thank you Phil & making us so welcome."
"We loved staying in the cosy, warm hut, the fog, gales and the beating rain made it even more atmospheric. The attention to detail is amazing, and we had such fun opening all the draws and cupboards and being surprised at we found!
The books were apt and interesting and we loved the sheep memorabilia, there is so much packed into a small space and it still looks modern and uncluttered."
"Wow! It’s like the Tardis, you’ve packed in so much but it feels so spacious, and all done with so much thought and style. I think you’ve set the “gold standard” for glamping, and the en suite is wonderful. It’s a magical place, mysterious outside, with the mist at sunset, but the lights were on warm and welcoming like a secret cocoon."
Nestling at the highest point of our front hayfield, and offering staggering views across the rural Mendips to Glastonbury Tor (and way beyond), you will find Ted’s Hut secluded away.
In the Somerset dialect ‘Ted’ means to turn hay so that it dries evenly into the perfect feed for the farm animals, ensuring that all the livestock are looked after in the best way possible. Ted’s Hut continues this approach today, ensuring that all visitors have everything they need to be rested, nurtured and are fully content.
