Helping you to look after the pennies

We’ve been reading VisitEngland’s latest report on ‘Domestic Sentiment’ (that’s ‘British people’s plans when it comes to overnight trips’ to the rest of us!). One of the pages which caught our eye was about how people were planning to reduce their spending on these trips, which interested us as we can ‘tick the boxes’ on many of them!

The most popular ways people were planning to cut back was by choosing cheaper accommodation (29%) and spending less on eating out (28%). We’re proud to say that, to help our guests during the cost of living crisis, we’ve held our prices at their 2022 level, so we offer excellent value for money. What’s more, our outside cooking facilities (Len has a Dutch Oven whilst Ted has a pizza oven) mean that you can ‘eat out’ just a few feet from your hut.

The third way in which people planned to cut back was ‘look for more free things to do’, with over a quarter (27%) saying they would do this. Our website is full of activities in the area which don’t cost money, including walks and a full guide to local towns and cities. You can find this information here.

Further down the list of actions respondents were planning on taking were ‘Choose self-catering accommodation’ (15%) and ‘Holidaying in the UK not overseas’ (11%). By visiting us at Tor View you’re doing both of these, whilst avoiding any possibility of having to deal with delays at the airport. So, it’s a win/win!

If you DO decide to stay with us (and we’re very much hoping that you do!) then our range of experiences to enhance your stay will ensure you have a great value way of getting the most out of your time away. This is a NEW feature for Summer 2023, and includes ideas such as guided walking tours and assistance with your outdoor cooking.

So, there you have it – we can help you have a great value break in beautiful Somerset countryside without breaking the bank, and you can still have your meal out!
